Privacy policy
How we collect, use and look after your personal information. Last updated 6 November 2026.
Who we are
Summit Land & Development ("Summit", "we", "us") buys land and property and builds homes. We're based at First Floor Office, 75 Poole Road, Westbourne, Bournemouth, BH4 9BB. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us the data controller.
Questions about this policy or your information: email info@landwithsummit.com, call 01202 836 215 or write to us at the address above.
What we collect and why
When you send an enquiry
When you use one of our forms or call us, we collect what you give us: usually your name, phone number, email address, the postcode or address of the land or property and anything you tell us about it. With a website enquiry we also record which form and page you used, the page you first arrived on, the website that referred you and any campaign tags in the link (for example from an advert), your browser type and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, which we use to spot spam. We don't store your IP address itself.
We use this to reply to you, assess your land or property, make offers and, if we go ahead, complete the purchase. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and, where no contract follows, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business.
When you sign up for our articles by email
We collect your email address (and name, if you give it), when and how you signed up, and the wording you agreed to. We email you only after you confirm by clicking the link we send. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
When you browse our website
We count visits to our pages without cookies. For each visit we record the page, the website that referred you, your country, the type of device and a code made from your IP address and browser that changes every day, so we can't recognise you from one day to the next or identify you. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don't count you at all. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also collects information about how you use the site. See our cookie policy. Our lawful basis for this is your consent.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with:
- companies that provide services to us and act on our instructions: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (our database, hosted in London), Brevo (email) and Google (website analytics, only if you accept cookies);
- professional advisers working on a transaction with you, such as solicitors, surveyors, planning consultants and estate agents;
- anyone we're required to share it with by law, for example to prevent fraud or money laundering.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a transaction: up to 2 years after we were last in touch.
- Enquiries that lead to a transaction: 6 years after completion, to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of your consent and unsubscribe for as long as we need to show we respected it.
- Website visit records: up to 26 months.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to have it transferred to you or someone else, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
